Hawthorn Retreat

When creating Hawthorn Retreat, we wanted to try and be as eco-conscious as possible, so thought it would be quite interesting to let you know a bit about the space you'll be visiting.

The beautiful wood panelling that lines all the walls and ceiling was salvaged from a local wood yard- the pieces were deemed too short for use and would have been disposed of as waste, but we knew that they would work wonderfully to create that cosy cabin feel we were after.

Our beautiful dresser was a fantastic find from a charity shop, all it needed was a bit of TLC for an upcycle. Same goes for our chair, we gave it a fresh coat of paint and reupholstered it with a recycled coffee sack.

Where possible, our beautifully selected massage oils are kept in amber glass bottles, which is easy to recycle and can be made from previously-recycled materials. Amber glass is one of the most eco-friendly options because it contains virgin materials. For most pharmaceutical products, amber glass is the best choice for protection from UV light. The colour serves purpose beyond being aesthetically pleasing, helping to keep the product safe and unchanged.

Even our comfy cushions are made from recycled plastic bottles!
